"If you were living in 1949, what choice would you make?" On October 21, 46 students from Class 3, Grade 2 of Xiamen No. 1 Middle School moved their classroom to the front of the Yungong Building of Jimei University. Under the guidance of an "immersive ideological and political instructor", they engaged in a "time and space dialogue" spanning 74 years around "Silent Glory". This is the first event of the "Glory Ideological and Political Education" research and study season launched by the Xiamen Municipal Education Bureau, the Culture and Tourism Bureau, and Xiamen Radio and Television. In the next two months, more than 35,000 primary and secondary school students will follow the footsteps of the drama and complete a series of "big ideological and political courses" in real urban scenes.

I. Course Design: Making History "Visible, Touchable, and Relatable"

- Gulangyu Seaview Garden: Students were divided into groups to play the roles of couriers, intelligence officers, and covert agents, completing a "secret contact" mission at the former Yude Girls' School. By solving puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and reciting letters from martyrs, they understood the spirit of sacrifice on the covert front.

- Jimei University History Museum: Using AR glasses, students "saw" Chen Jiageng, the builder of the building complex, and General Wu Shi from the play, sharing the parallel storylines of "saving the nation through education" and "saving the nation through intelligence."

- Hongyanzhuang Puppet Art Museum: Intangible cultural heritage inheritor Zhuang Yanhong spoke about "puppetry and shared memories across the Taiwan Strait." Students crafted "hero puppets" and choreographed a three-minute skit, "Zhu Feng Sends a Letter."

- Xiamen Prison Breakout Site: Inspired by the "rescue comrades" plot from the play, students experienced a "prison relay" escape room and realized the "power of faith."

II. School-Local Collaboration: Transforming the City into a "Classroom Without Walls."

According to the head of the Moral Education Department of the Municipal Education Bureau, Xiamen has identified 30 revolutionary sites and filming locations related to the film "Glory." A four-stage curriculum, "Cognition-Emotion-Voluntary-Action," has been developed for elementary, middle, and high school students:

Elementary school students will focus on "listening to stories and drawing heroes";

Middle school students will incorporate "role-playing and debate" activities;

High school students will write a research paper titled "If I Were a Lurker," which will be factored into their overall quality assessment.

In addition, a dedicated "Glory School Bus" line will be available to the public on weekends and holidays, allowing parents to ride for free with their children.

3. Digital Empowerment: Launching the "Medal of Honor" Growth System

Students can receive virtual medals through the "Xiamen Moral Education" mini-program for each completed study session. Collecting 12 medals can be exchanged for a physical "Little Guardian of Honor" badge. Students with outstanding performance will also be recommended to participate in the "Cross-Strait Youth Intangible Cultural Heritage Summer Camp," where they will perform the puppet show "Strait Common Origin" with Taiwanese elementary and middle school students.

4. Parent Feedback: Children proactively research and write letters home

"On the way home, my daughter kept asking me about the fate of Martyr Zhu Feng's children," said parent Lin Yan. Previously, didactic indoctrination was ineffective, but now, a drama can truly connect children to the story, "even their essays are written with heartfelt emotion."

V. Safety and Sustainability: Establishing Standards for Film and Television Study Tours

The Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism stated that the next steps will be:

1. Formulating "Film and Television Study Tour Service Specifications" to standardize scene safety, explanation content, and emergency response mechanisms;

2. Inviting the historical advisory team for "Silent Glory" to serve as members of the "Red Mentor Pool" to ensure the accuracy of historical materials;

3. Extending the "Glory Ideological and Political Education" model to Quanzhou, Zhangzhou, and Pingtan to create a "Joint History Study Circle for Fujian and Taiwan Youth."

"We hope that children will remember not just the popular check-in spots, but also the courage and faith of the generation behind them," said a representative from the Municipal Education Bureau.
