- Continuous heavy rainfall in Yuzhong County, Lanzhou, Gansu Province, starting on August 7th triggered flash floods. As of the 8th, 10 people had died and 33 were missing. General Secretary Xi Jinping issued important instructions, demanding all-out search and rescue efforts for the missing and strengthening extreme weather risk prevention and control.

- Guangzhou, riding the wave of the "Eight Scenic Spots of Guangzhou" competition and the popularity of the 15th National Games, became one of the most popular domestic summer destinations, with bookings for related scenic spots increasing by nearly 10% year-on-year.
