Your total usually combines: guide service + private vehicle and driver + per-person tickets and meals + airport, railway, or other requested services.
Guide and vehicle charges are mainly tied to the party and service day. Admissions, meals, and Great Wall access products increase with the number of travelers. This is why adding travelers can raise the total while reducing the per-person share of some daily services.
An accurate quote needs your dates, party size and ages, hotel, number of touring days, guide language, vehicle and luggage needs, ticket status, and requested transfers.
A useful quote answers five questions
- Which services are charged per party, per day, or per person?
- Which tickets and Great Wall access products are included?
- Where do the guide and vehicle service hours begin and end?
- Which costs remain payable during the trip?
- What happens after a cancellation, ticket failure, closure, delay, or requested route change?

How group size affects the per-person cost
One traveler
One person carries the full guide and vehicle cost. A guide-only city day, selected group day, or self-guided section may keep the scope focused.
Couple or small party
The same guide and suitable vehicle serve the party, while admission and meals remain per person. Compare the total and the per-person amount.
Family or larger group
More travelers share some daily services, but a larger vehicle, more tickets, child seats, additional luggage, or a second guide can change the calculation.
Ask whether the quoted total applies to the full party or to each traveler. A price marked "from" has little value until the assumed party size, date, vehicle, guide language, itinerary, and inclusions are stated.

Private guide
Language, service date, meeting and ending points, daily hours, attraction coverage, meal arrangements, and overtime terms.
Vehicle and driver
Vehicle class, legal passenger capacity, luggage capacity, pickup area, service period, parking, tolls, waiting, and overtime.
Attraction tickets
Every included admission, optional gallery, scenic shuttle, cable car, ropeway, slide, reservation responsibility, and required document.
Meals
Included meal count, allowance or set menu, drinks, dietary request, guide and driver meals, and any amount payable separately.
Airport or railway transfer
Airport or station, terminal, meeting method, waiting allowance, flight monitoring, luggage, child seats, late arrival, and hotel destination.
Payment
Quote currency, deposit, balance date, payment fees, exchange-rate basis, validity period, and written confirmation of booked services.
Tickets can make two similar quotes look different
Check each ticket by name. "Admission included" does not show whether optional galleries, scenic shuttles, or Great Wall ascent and descent products are covered.
Official ticket examples checked August 25, 2026
The Beijing government's current Palace Museum listing shows general admission at CNY 60 per person from April 1 through October 31 and CNY 40 from November 1 through March 31. The Treasure Gallery and Gallery of Clocks are listed separately at CNY 10 each. The museum requires advance purchase and does not sell same-day admission under the listed arrangement.
The Mutianyu official visitor notice states that Great Wall admission does not include the scenic shuttle, cable car, ropeway, slide, or other attraction products. Cable-car and ropeway or slide tickets belong to separate systems and are not interchangeable.
Age, height, residency status, and supporting documents can affect ticket eligibility. Send every traveler's age and travel-document type, then treat any discount as confirmed only after the applicable attraction rule has been checked.

Children and older travelers affect more than ticket prices
Send each child's age, height, weight, and child-seat requirement. Installed seats occupy vehicle space, and a stroller or several large suitcases can require a different vehicle even when the passenger count appears to fit.
For older travelers, state comfortable continuous-walking time, stair limits, balance concerns, mobility equipment, and whether a family member may return early. A split route can require extra guide or vehicle support when both parts of the group need assistance.
Use Beijing Family Tours when naps, child seats, shorter palace routes, Great Wall access, or grandparents' walking limits affect the quotation.
Dates and busy periods affect availability
Exact dates are needed before guide language, vehicle class, attraction tickets, and the quote validity period can be confirmed. Public holidays, school breaks, major events, and short-notice requests can reduce available choices. The effect on price depends on the service and date; it should appear in the written quotation.
Official attraction seasons can also change admission costs. The Palace Museum's peak- and low-season prices are one clear example. Recheck all official prices, booking rules, and closure announcements before payment because published arrangements can change.
Airport and layover quotes need separate inputs
An airport pickup cannot be priced accurately from the word "Beijing" alone. State PEK or PKX, terminal, scheduled arrival, international or domestic flight, party size, checked luggage, child seats, hotel, and whether sightseeing starts before hotel check-in.
For a layover, send both flight numbers, arrival and departure dates, terminal details, luggage plan, and your required return-to-airport margin. Entry permission, immigration processing, flight punctuality, attraction tickets, traffic, and operating conditions remain outside a tour provider's control.

Read the cancellation terms before paying
A complete cancellation section should state:
- Deposit amount and balance due date
- Refund schedule based on the cancellation date
- Nonrefundable tickets, reservations, vehicle commitments, or other booked services
- Terms for personal cancellation, flight delay, missed meeting time, and requested itinerary changes
- Procedure after an attraction closure or weather-related facility suspension
- Refund currency, payment fees, processing method, and expected handling period
Tour cancellation terms and attraction refund rules are separate. A refundable tour service does not automatically make every confirmed ticket refundable. Ask for the applicable terms in writing before the deposit is paid.
Items commonly excluded unless listed
The phrase "all inclusive" still requires a written list. Check tickets, meals, guide and driver service periods, vehicle overtime, parking, tolls, airport waiting, child seats, and Great Wall access products individually.
Why a much lower total needs a line-by-line check
- The quote uses guide-only service while the comparison includes a private vehicle.
- The vehicle covers fewer hours or ends before the final hotel transfer.
- Admission, Great Wall shuttle, or ascent and descent products are payable separately.
- Airport pickup, luggage transport, child seats, parking, or overtime is excluded.
- The guide language, group size, vehicle class, or travel date differs.
- Shopping stops or optional paid activities have not been clearly disclosed.
A lower total can still be suitable when you want a smaller service scope. Make the reduction deliberate: remove a vehicle from a walkable city day, keep one meal independent, use private support only for the Great Wall, or shorten the guide service after the main attraction.

How much is a private guide in Beijing without a vehicle?

Are Forbidden City tickets included in a private tour?

Why can a Great Wall day cost more than a city day?
